The Three Categories of US Citizen I Won’t Help Emigrate

These would-be “expats” can find help somewhere else

When I decided to provide Conscientious Emigration Consulting services to people wanting to leave the US, I thought that the interjection of “conscientious” might deter people who, by their nature, are not.

I was partly right.

For the most part, the people who have contacted me for advice and support launching an emigration journey have been lovely humans.

Most of them are targeted for identities the far-right loves to hate: trans folks, non-binary folks, people who are not racialized as white, religious minorities, interracial couples.

My people. Those who fall outside of conformist boxes and simply want to exist in peace.

There have been, however, inquiries that leave me scratching my head.

How did these people find me?

Why would they even want to hire me, given how openly, consistently, and unapologetically I write about not engaging with those who share their characteristics?
